Half Moon Weddings are like no other
Andrea Smith, Master Wedding Planner at Half Moon, one of the Caribbean's most iconic destinations. For over 15 years Andrea has been creating wedding ceremonies that - as the resort describes it - are like no other.
Flair sat down with Andrea to find out what excited brides-to-be can expect for the 2018-2019 wedding season.
Being 'Master Wedding Planner' is no easy feat; Andrea credits her achievement to remaining not only on trend but ahead of the trends.
Black and white will be in. With those being the Half Moon signature colours, we are certainly excited about tying this in whether through decor, floral arrangements and other fun elements.
Speaking of colour, Pantone's colour of the year will quickly become a go-to for brides once it is announced. For 2017 'Greenery' came out on top and already we can see the spring time yellow-green shade being incorporated in ceremonies.
Other on trend colours are millennial pink and Easter egg blue
Weddings are no longer just a ceremony and reception; couples are focused on creating an entire experience for their guests and with a resourceful team at Half Moon, we've hosted bartending classes, organised day trips, and even had 5Ks on property for wedding guests. For wedding receptions, we're seeing lawn games, photo booths, bonfires, and even live-painting stations being included.
Say bye-bye to traditional gifts and say hello to charity registries. People are giving back and we love it!
Get extra! Whether it is oversized details like large bouquets, upside down cakes, or over-the-top entertainment, brides are upping the ante on their ceremonies.
Perhaps inspired by Pantone's 'Greenry', fairy-tale weddings are taking on a new feel. Enchanted forest, woodland, and garden themes are a favourite, with the decor leaning heavily on trees and dresses having an ethereal vibe. With Half Moon's signature columns, towering palm trees and over 400 acres of manicured gardens it's easy for us to create 'once upon a times' and 'happily ever afters'.
