Summer is the time for boldness and excitement. So, what's better than having a splendid summer wedding? Whether it's indoors or outdoors, your big day will definitely be spectacular. It's the most important day of your life so everything has to be just right. Planning a summer wedding is easy. It doesn't matter if you haven't planned one, wedding planner Stacey-Ann Stoddart will guide you all the way.

BEST TIME AND PLACE

The sweltering sun is not a bother. Wedding planner Stacey- Ann Stoddart says the best time for your exquisite nuptial hour is in the evening, especially if you are having an outdoor event. You may be thinking of cooling down the heat on your big day and opt for an indoor event.

"If it's indoors, in an air conditioned venue then you should be more comfortable, anytime would be ok," Stoddart told Flair.

THEMES

A wedding without a theme is no wedding at all. There are so many you can choose from, but a beach or garden wedding Stoddart recommends, sure does sound good. The turquoise water, dazzling sand and warm heat or the beautiful flower garden are features your guest simply can't resist, especially if they are coming from overseas. Colours are important, so always choose colours that bring out the best in you.

BEST WEDDING FAVOURS

Like your wedding, the wedding favours should be memorable and should reflect the awesome summer season. Colourful umbrellas, adorable sunglasses and fans that will stun your guests are perfect. However, the creativity does not end there. "If you can afford flip flops that would be great and would come in handy now and later, especially for your female guests. When it's time to boogie down they can kick off their heels and get the party started," Stoddart said.

TIPS FOR THE PERFECT SUMMER WEDDING

If you want to be remembered as one of the most breathtaking brides, here's what Stoddart said you should never forget.

- Give your make-up a trial run, maybe several times over especially if you are doing it yourself and especially if you are having an outdoor wedding. See how the heat affects your makeup and make the necessary changes before your big day.

- Ensure you know what your hairstyle will be before -hand. Ensure it can stand up to the heat/humidity as well as if it rains.

- If you are having an outdoor wedding dress in breathable fabrics and inform your guest as well so as to guarantee everyone is as comfortable as possible.

- Don't have your guests waiting indefinitely especially if you are having an outdoor wedding and the sun is scorching hot. Apart from being ill-mannered, it's cruel.
